Can you have a think and let me know where I might go to find a pedestal table for my cockpit please. I've scanned the Whitworths cattle dog, to no avail, and done an online search - there are some really tiddly ones (read $$$ ones) in the UK - but surely we have someone who supplies the brackets and tables in Aus - surely?

4 Bells.
I think you will find that the easiest and cheapest way will be to make your own.
Wander around or check the net. Find a design. Make a mock up out of cardboard.
A bob's you uncle.
Painted ply would do the job, but teak is the wood of choice. However is unbelievable costly.
My suggestion there is to source some secondhand outdoor furniture ( a table) and recycle the wood.
It will be advertised as teak and won't be but will be close enough for what you want.
The raw teak would be much more practical than a varnished job

I making it, ensure that the dimensions are such that you can store it away properly.

I like this one for practicality.

Camera tripod for legs?

Slide in job looks easy to make, but with out fiddles or drink holder holes is not really practical.

There is nothing stopping you from going crazy

Well with brackets and the model I like is about $800 posted. I'm not a fan of teak I would prefer to stain it in a jarrah.
