Hi Everyone on here,

I have just foind this site, and happy to see so many like minded people I can connect with. I bought a Tartan 37 S & S a couple of years ago and have so far sailed her to South West Rocks and back again and a few day trips out from Coffs. I am for the most part by myself, and very much a beginner, so would love to connect with some local yachties anywhere from Coffs to Laurieton.

Happy Sailing

Welcome to the forum. I answered your post a few minutes ago on the Aries. I did not realize you were female and may have answered a little differently if I had. Good to see newcomers filling in the bio.

How would you have answered differently???
Used politically correct language and said better than "helmsPERSON" or left it the same with rider that helms women are usually better than an Aries as opposed to helmsMEN.

I am dreaming of sailing north to the Whitsundays in about 18 months when I get long service leave.

Once you forfill your Dream I doubt you will want to go back!
although the whitsundays is not all paradise it is a challenging but rewarding place to sail!

You have a great design boat that should take you anywhere, with the proviso it needs to be in good nick and appropriately fitted out.

Yes, I'm looking forward to retiring although that is a while away.... and not coming back!! I sailed with my brother and Dad on my brother's boat from Airlie to Cairns in 2011. Best thing I've ever done, and what led to me buying my boat.

Thanks Morningbird. It is a great design boat. Was in pretty good nick, but I have a few little issues since my first trip... plumbing, fridge, and the last thing since I took her out a couple of months back... the furler for the foresail has seized. I have someone looking at that.

It has a lot of good electronic stuff and a quite new Yanmar motor.

Welcome McNaughtical!! Great to see a gal with the guts to own her own yacht join in with, for the most part, us crusty old buggers. (I can hear them all saying "Speak for yourself Cisco!! )

The "Brains Trust" here pretty good so if you have tech questions, fire away.

In Coff's, if you need any welding work done call "Lando's Mobile Welding". He did a great job on my exhaust elbow on our way north. Scott Landrigan, I won't post his number for reasons of spam etc. He is on google.

Hint for the forum. We like photos and the general rule is "Pics or it didn't happen." Cheers.

I would have typed slower!

Actually I may have gone into more detail about the Aries. It's a good choice for your vessel. Search through the Youtube videos on windvanes and there will be plenty featuring this design.

Photos can be added to your gallery, you will see the section on the top of this page.
