Living at Newport and all the resent hype about sharks, I only went out last week and bought an electronic 'Shark Shield' for when I am washing the bottom of the boat. Yesterday a 2.5m croc was spotted at the marina, let's hope the bloke had been smoking a bit of weed. Brisbane is a long way south for a crocodile .
After washing the boat on Saturday as I was getting out of the water the misses said "did the Shark Shield work dear?, my reply "well I'm still here so it must have worked"

Ha ha, better get myself a shark shield. The crocs a worry, apparently it's only crocs & polar bears that see humans as food...

Crikey!!

Apparently QNPWS are taking the sighting very seriously!

Ive just arrived home after 2 days away to the news that it was my next boat neighbour who spotted it. He is a very credible witness...no dodgy substances involved

The rangers were apparently here last night with searchlights here and amongst the nearby mangroves searching for it. They believe it may be a rogue male who may be looking for a new territory.

See what Mr Kindred makes of this with his development proposal for twin ten storey towers on the marina site

Crocs have been spotted as far south as Harvey Bay in the past. Must have found it's way over the Wide Bat Bar. Got his waypoints from Tin Can Bay VMR like the rest of us.

Mr Kindred can add 'Croc spotting' to his list of outlandish proposals that no one in the area wants. We would be far better if they leave the zoning as is. What we need is a Sail maker, rigger, Marine mechanic, Marine Electrician, Yacht broker, marine Trimmer, Marine Refrigeration and any number of other marine related services, not a developers money hungry dream of twin ten storey towers.
Sorry this is a local rant but Theselkie will understand.

That also looks like a croc sunning itself with its mouth open.
Double entendre even, very cool NowandZen

People, if you go to the Qld museum you can see pics of the crocodile hunts on the Albert and Logan Rivers in the early 1900s
I cans see why QPWS would take it seriously.

It was open season on crocs for 150 years and that didn't wipe them out.

Dangerous rather than endangered is a more appropriate adject for them.

It is because of them and sharks that I do my utmost to stay on the water rather than in it.

I am sure boty could find a photo of one on his slipway if we push him.

Your a better man than me. I had a drive along CTC on Sunday for the first time and having lived in the top end thought there's no way I'd be jumping in . On the other hand I saw the CYCQ has a sailing school going . Been in Bne. for 14yrs. and it was first time I had a drive around Shorncliffe. Boy ,renovated time warp ,fantastic.
