Something I never believe it would happen. On 28th June around 10.30 - 11pm ( approx ) i was taken by big impact. Run on deck to find bow damaged, winch, furller in railing all damaged. Looking around I did not see any boat near by. Grab radio , ch16 and call for possible assistance . Brisbane police responded and informed that that know which boat did the colision. They found the boat further down stream taking water ( Northshore Hamilton , beached ).
Staying up all night monitoring just in case if I'm taking water, luckily not.
My starting cable snapped, unable to stear if i need to ( fixed after 5hrs oh work ). Unable to pull my anchor.
Police took statement and photos.
Now im waiting to for further development.
It will cost fortune to fix this.

Sorry to hear Kryspen. I got gouge marks along my hull once but not your kind of damage. Was it a boat adrift or underway? You should be able to get them to pay for repair either way.

The boat was underway , must be at full speed , I also have gouged marks ( gellcoat damaged on sides ). Waiting for police to complete full investigation . They inform me that he will be charged for this.
Hope he got insurance to cover repairs otherwise lawyers will take over.

Have you notified your insurance coy. If Police say they are going to lay charges obviously the person has broken the law somehow and his insurance coy. may not pay out .

I assume your vessel was one of the boats hit by the mustang cruiser. Your insurance will have to sort you out & pursue him later for the damages. Yes you'll need some quotes. Try to book in at river gate with some trades.

"was one of the boats hit by the mustang cruiser"
What was the Mustang doing to hit more than one vessel? Aiming for them?
Doesn't sound like an ideal situation. Hope it all works out for you with as little drama as possible.

Hi Kryspen,

I'm sorry to hear about your plight and hope that your insurance company is being supportive.

I can relate, as a power boat once ran into Arriba at midnight while we were fast asleep at anchor. Our damage was at the waterline, but fortunately the other vessel was moving slowly and, the damage, while expensive to repair, was far less extensive than yours. Fortunately the skipper of the other vessel had the decency to exchange contact details. My insurance company was then able to get his insurance company to pay. I hope it has worked out for you too.

Finally i got the motion moving. In 2 weeks repairs to my boat begins
The other party accepted quote for repairs. Total cost would be not far from 30K, time on hard.
Will take approx 3 weeks.

Got it. About 10.30 - 11pm. Don't know what he was douing, police got his boat sinking and put him on the rocks about 1km away. Lucky for me he hit full power on the bow strong point other way i probably be not here .
Have not read his report.
He agree to pay full quote for repairs. Possibly still be hearing in front of magistrate as olive submit accident , his fault .
