mm Hi all
I dis a bit of damage to my main sheet traveler car on the weekend and I want to replace it
From what i can see it is a Fico NF1147 car but i think that they are no longer available new in Australia
Th track is a I section 19 mm across the top and approx 25 mm high and these are similar measurements to the Ronstan 19 mm I beam system
Just wondering if anyone has ever re[placed a Fico car with a Ronstan one
The Ronstan car is listed as having angled wheels where as the Fico seem to be parallel and the Fico track is straight on the vertical section of the beam whereas the Ronstan seems to be wider at the top and bottom
There is a Ronstan one in Hobart so unless someone can tell me that it wont fit i might get it down and give it a go
The other thing is I don't suppose anyone has a Fico one in good condition they want to sell to me
Any thoughts would be appreciated
Regards Don
Suggest give Mike a call at the Boat Locker. He is very good and you might be in luck. AustPost bag won't cost much?

Ho all
I just received a reply on the Sailing Australia Exchange facebook page from a gentleman who said that he has used a Ronstan car in place of a Fico one so I will get one sent down tomorrow and give it a try
Regards Don
Hi Don this might be what need if the one you have ordered doesn't fit Let me know!
Cheers Bear
Hi jbear
I am going out to the boat in a few minutes to see if the Ronstan one works so I will let you know how I go
Regards Don
I'm watching for your test results with Ronstan traveller car. I have issues with 30 year old cars on a Beneteau.
At Sydney Boat show this year I did find a stand with an agency for comparable cars suited to older 19mm track that doesn't have the shoulder on the current Ronstan track. I can't remember their name, it wil be in the show catalogue. I think they were from Brookvale.
Cheers lauriel
Hi all
The Ronstan one worked beautifully and I had a bit of a play around with the main sheet block mounting and it should work better than before
Thanks everyone for their input
Regards Don
