Hey there you TWU tragics, time to give this forum a video bump. We've been posting some good result in the local offshore scene. Here's one of our "lesser" outings Carnac Is race a few weeks back. 25kts & building on the beautiful flat waters of Cockburn Sound. We had three juniors on board for their first outing outside the river - They did real good. Our sail makers (Will & Chewy) later told us off for flogging the good kite so badly, but the code 2 was jammed up so we could not set it properly, and we were very light on for expertise in fresh conditions. Had to bare head for 30 min. Only a few wipe outs, we do get the kite settled.... eventually.... Gets better around 6 min.

Good stuff Poods. Great to see young ones getting into it. Not sure whether they would be ready for an overnighter with you guys though
Keep the vids coming

Another top vid from TWU. No wonder the youngsters were smiling you were motoring along. Were smiles still there when you turned in the other direction?

I just looked at the GPS log. We averaged 11kts over the leg, not bad considering we arent really a planing boat, and our hull speed is around 8kts. We had a few sustained (30-60sec) spells of 13kts.

"This Way Up" is a Sydney36 (NOT a 38!) about 10 years old, but the design is 20yo. We bought her about 3 1/2 years ago, had an old 3/4t UFO 34 prior. TWU was originally an IMS short ocean racer design. Her waterline length is 32.8'.'

And because you asked, you can see dozen more vids we've done on this channel:

and we also have some HD vids on vimeo: vimeo.com/user10559032
