Hi to all of You,
just registered and beeing unable to find separate forum for introduction, I'm using this sailing forum to do so.
I'm owner of Manitou "ketch". One week ago I did madien trip to Great Kapple Island. I do call it madien because it involved staing over night on boat in remote location from my moring in Gladstone, this happened for the first time since sailing her/him from Sydney in 2006 after become owner. The name of my boat is Tulak, it is the name previous owner chosed and beeing supersticious about name change I did not changed. Tulak is masculine form, in Australia boats are refered as "she", so how it realy is? How shuld I call it "she Tulak" or "he Tulak"? (may be new topic?). For those familar with Manitous layouts, Tulak is totaly diferent, all interia has been redesign and build by myself, this draged trough many years but with good results.. Pictures are of engine access of my design.

Welcome Manitulak. Gee that engine and engine bay look clean and tidy! More photos please. How big?

Wow, 2006 to 2014 is 8 years - that's a while to wait to take her sailing.

On the him/her issue: our boat is called Bob so we often refer to it as 'he' but I sometimes use 'she'. We generally acknowledge that s/he is a transgendered boat, which is just fine by us.

Hi manitulak. welcome to forum.
Next time, you plan a trip to Keppels, let me know,
meet you around Keppels, show you nice spots, base in Rosslyn Bay.

Tulák is very nice name, meaning wanderer, perhaps swagman.
no other meaning,

Hi to all of You,
Thanks for yours kind words, to answers sam of the questions: Tulak is 32' and motor is Yanmar 3ym20 (as per manufacture direction it shal not be run at WOT when it may be able to deliver 21hp, no such info in the ads).
Tulak is my baby and "it" does fix problem.
Yes, I wish it will be fun boat.
Gladstone changed from popular stop over before The Narrows to somehow unwelcome place due to LNG boats traffic, it may change again but it will take time to regain previous status.
My son is living in Rocky and one day I will be taking him to GKI. How did you known about mining of "tulak"?
Thanks again, it is pleasing to fill at home.

Welcome manitulak. Maybe we know each other. Were you working at Curragh Coal mine about 8 years ago as a fitter for United Resources Group??
