I am replacing my aged original Bukh SEV 38 amp alternator have been leaning towards a Bosch K1 95 amp alternator mod the flywheel pulley to double A section belt or what ends up suitable as far a rotation speeds and whats pulley is available with the Bosch K1 Alternator . I'm not really over joyed at the belt section that the original S.E.V comes with , looks like a M section belt size. far to small.
any thought and recommendations welcome
I don't have any comments about the Bosch K1. Bosch stuff is usually pretty solid though.
Just a suggestion to check out eBay when it comes time to make your purchase. For example, I recently replaced one of my Volvo Penta 115A alternators. Turns out it's manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric (good!), and that VP part # 874502 is identical to Mitsubishi electric part # A3TR0091.
The prices on eBay where less than 50% of local VP dealer prices.
So it pays to do some research and to shop around.
Your right, a work mate recently bought a starter motor Repco were cheaper than Asmores you have to look around net every where
What I have to work out is the Bukh DV 20's rpm sweet spot when running the motor and then work out the alternators rpm for reasonable Amp out put and make a reasonable size double A section V pulley to mount on the Bukh flywheel to replace the under size single M section V pulley that the Bukh has now There way to small the belts stretch in no time.
