Kicks of tomorrow afternoon, over 200 ocean miles Cat 2. This & the return race to Fremantle next weekend are two of the toughest races on the WA sailing calender, follow the live action here:http://www.yb.tl/geraldton2014
Watch out for the little Sydney36 "This Way Up"
...and starting 0930 this friday, we get to race back. 25-35kts on the nose all the way, yum yum! Follow it here: yb.tl/geraldton2014
Smallest yacht would be Blondie, an SS34 - recent build with a few modern tricks & age allowance leg-up, but very well sailed.
Return journey starts 0930 tomorrow. 25-35kts on the nose for 215nm, nice.

Shame this race does not get the media coverage it deserves, 30-35 knots bashing into wind, the return leg would of been hell of a trip, by time I finished on radio watch 3 boats had retired damaged, how well did Blondie do! S&S 34 4th over the finish beating a couple of 50 foot boats, great effort. Really well done to all, 40 hours or more of not the best conditions.
She was very tough. We returned first day, lots of flooding from our rudder bearing, knocked out our instruments & navigation. Very big seas. Three other boats also retired or went for cover, cracked bulkhead, busted mast & busted mainsail amongst the damage.
Hats off to the boats that made the finish, it was a very tough few days.
Now we need to get our boat back to perth!!
