So i spotted this tidy little dingy with Self draining cockpit and Positive floatation. Looks like a mini day sailor with small outboard.

Living in hervey bay i would love to own something i could sail across to fraser with my young family..... (5&3yr olds)

I see this as an ideal thing to explore lake cotharabra not sure if it would be suitable to explore the bay with the young family.... not sure 2hp would get us through the marina entrance on a running tide either?

I had sold our windrush cat in hope of a trailer sailer but the simplicity of this dingy has me intrigued...... and the price

I'm not. If your after a cheap trailer sailer something like this may suit.

Perhaps a junk rig or cat rig similar to the original.

Its ok, i'm far from ready to attempt a fixer upper. This little dingy just had me intrigued with its light weight, simple rig, easy to store atributes and wondered if this would increase on water sailing time over a 20-25ft typical trailer sailer (that i cant really store)

A cheap fixed keel on lake macquarie sounds nice....

...... just going through sailing withdrawals....

The advertisement photos say it all, a closed waters sailing boat only.

Hervey Bay can get bloody rough, I wouldn't like to be caught out there in one of these with young kids onboard.

You could get a Pacer which is nice for cruising.

Not much to explore in Lake Cootharaba. But the everglades in there is like a scene from "The African Queen" sensational, but shallow.
I took my little 18 foot Careel, centre board up, sails down and engine on slow. I was waiting for a Hippo to raise its head out of the water.
Loved it. Had to constantly look up so the mast didn't snag on some over head branches. Very tight in some spots.

That is beautiful and one of the best reasons to own a trailer sailer.

Looks like you had a Compass Careel get together there.
