Hello all, I have returned from the "Sin Bin". I have finished my Cape Tribulation trip. I went down to Yamba to move a dredge and saw a rather famous boat sitting on the mooring.
After helping out with the dredge I went for a quick look at the local trawler fleet. As a drove round the corner I noticed a boat maybe a mile away from my truck. I though "that looks like an S&S 34 over there". The next day I went for a walk and Low- behold the boat was indeed an S&S 34 and was Lionheart. I will post pictures of it when I have better internet.
I also found a boat with sponsorship on the side (pictured below) anyone know the story to this?
regards,
Mick
Hey Shanty I was also in Yamba last week and took a snap of Lionheart. I left my boat there while I came back to do jury duty in Newcastle which of course they cancelled at the last minute as often happens. Don't know the story with the Mottle 33 but looks like some serious campaign judging by the sponsorships. Bill
Lionheart is part of the Yamba Yacht Club racing fleet.
While there is a Mottle 33 in the club, not that one. I suspect it's a visitor to town. I don't recall seeing it (but then I rarely went down into the mooring area.

Interesting. Do you know who owns "Lionheart"?
Scuttlebut on the boat with the sponsorship. came from the gold coast last summer, an old bloke doing a circumnavigation to raise money to save kolas or something, was tied up in Maclean for a good while. None of the usual trappings of a circumnavigator but at least the sail cover is on now
Ah! Serial rescuee. Needs saving more than the koalas.

I hung around for a bit writing his sponsors down in case they want to sponsor me lol. All I gotta say is I'm doing it for the platypus's instead of koalas.

Mick

Chris in his defence he's not a tosser. Just a newbie like we all are at some stage, we find a forum and post stuff and wait for a reply.
It's a good buzz fuzzy feeling when you get a good reply. My feeling about 5 years ago was good but not mentioning any names went to bad as I was told to lift my English skills and use punchation . I learnt a bit from that bloke even the fact that I had written 2 publications in the cruising helmsman mag prior to finding this forum. (Mum spell checked all.) every one on here comes from all walks of life and every poster has there own experiences. All sailers, boaties or wannabies.
Just think clearly how much and what you post and make sure your discussions are clear as well as the pics you post
i been through the I just want to leave this forum bullcrap. Not worth it your free to have your word just do it wisely..

Hi southace/Southaven's ???
Im guessing you mean Craig not Chris, as in me.
I agree with you, Mick is not a tosser, just an enthusiastic kid with a dream.
Yes we were all newbies at some point and we learnt how to mix it with the oldies on the forums (and life)
I believe newbies are awesome as they bring new ideas, problems, solutions etc, with out new blood the forum goes stale and mouldy like us old guys.
Mick and I have exchanged a few private messages and he understands my last post to be friendly banter. (Plus a test for him)
As he stated he is on a self ban, I reached out to invite him back on a PM
I believe this to be a better outcome than the out of control spiral that was taking place with people getting too personal. No good would come from that.
Cheers
