finaly found some good silicon coated strip lights. $20 per meter , fitted the starboard locker today and will do the Port side tomorrow , I think I may do the forward cabin and the cockpit with the same gear.
do they come in red as well for night time sailing ?
Blue is for night time sailing mate, red projecting out of my cabin Windows will show up as port.
mmm true that ......... we use red head lights sometimes , a bit dangerous A ? that bright blue would be a bit blinding wouldn't it ?
Last time I went through wide bay bar some old school had a red light in his cockpit trying to read his charts or whatever I spent a hour trying to determine if he was tacking towards me or if he had any idea when first light cracked I worked out I was looking at him from behind since 4am! Red lights are for port or pimps.
looks good
It's a shame I don't like snakes I'm a bit stumped on what to put in my lockers now I have pulled all the crap out and fitted lights!
just put all the crap back in , but in a tidy way !!!
I'm thinking my flares/epirb and all the offshore safety gear that would look neat!
Blue lights keeps me warm at nights! I'm looking at installing a diesel heater next or perhaps a fireplace screen saver for the tv!

I haven't seen that model with the flame shooter! they have come down in price a lot since my friends installed there's a few years back, cheapest I seen yesterday on eBay $160 delivered.
I fancy the warmth from the diesel burning heater. Make sure you have a reliable carbon monoxide alarm operating with the heater. Cheers
Blue light has the shortest wavelength and highest energy, overexposure can cause eye strain, damage the retina and upset circadian rhythm disrupting night sleep.
it is the worst light colour to relax to at night.

That's it, you will have to swap them out for the multi coloured disco version.

That's a interesting comment , the amp useage is the same as the white lights according to the specs on the packet, also there where no warnings on the packet about damages to the retina and it hasn't effected my sleep so far. I'm looking forward to see how they perform night sailing.
