Looking to keep a 40ft yacht in Hobart for up to 6 months. Can anyone recommend a marina or mooring area and who to contact?
Cheers

at Bellrive and Lindisfarne,
also at Montague Bay
think Mast.. could be wrong though.. has control over the marina around the waterfront
you'll also find moorings listed on gumtree from time to time,
things get cheaper the further out you go, naturally
Hi Blackswan
Looking at gumtree there is one in Hobart

Or one down here on the Huon at Riselys Bay, 500 meters upstream from where I live at Port Huon which is 45 mins drive south of Hobart and a lot nicer in my opinion but I may be biased

Also here at Port Huon we have the Kermandie Marina and you would be looking at around $350 a month for a 40 footer www.kermandie.com.au/servicesandrates.aspx

Thank you very much guys, have fired off contacts. The cruising looks good, I assume that its pretty cold in winter, do you cruise much then or leave it for summer?
Cheers
Hi Blackswan
The racing season here on the Huon is from September to April but i sail all year round
We get a lot of beautiful winter days (and some rubbish ones) and it is nice going for a sail with snow topped mountain in the distance
The Huon and the Channel are great cruising waters and even when the weather is perfect the waterways are never busy
Regards Don
75 knots in a 40 footer during a race on the river
Probably a less than perfect day on the Huon
