I searching for a lead on the Swanson Pug nesting dinghy so far Ive got as far as some where around Emerald in Vic
Below is not a swanson pug but what I'm looking for
It was called the Swanson Snug. Moulds were with a dinghy manufacturer in Artarmon, Sydney back in the 90s. Don't know anything more than that.
Got one of these Chameleon Nesting Dinghy's on my boat. Fits upside down onto of the aft cabin. It probably about 10ft when put together. I lift it on an off myself. but its not light and not much fun in a big swell with 20knts blowing. But I like it.
If I'm out snorkelling with it, I climb over the front when by myself or if some one else is with me, I hold the opposite side while they climb in and then they sit to the other side as I climb in. Rows well and I beefed up the transom so it didn't flex with the 3.3hp outboard. Mine has a sail, but that stayed at home in the shed as I had to draw the line with how much gear I had on the boat.
I did make up extended rowlocks to enable me to lift the oars higher out of the water. Not a problem in flat water but use to catch the odd wave when the swell is up. The anchor, fuel etc stores in the front compartment and I put a lock on it when left ashore.
Good old Gumtree

Found this one
Just the same Ill measure my deck next week and the cabin top see what I can fit
I was thinking about one of these:

Just to get me from the beach, 50m out to the mooring. Not sure it would handle my usual load of 2 or three people, an outboard, an esky and a few bags of gear.

I looked at that one also .
The best one I cant afford its a carbon fiber tender comers with a sail and rigging made up in Queensland
My RIB currently has a 6hp suzuki 4 stroke. Great little motor but I'm thinking trade in for a 10-15 hp so I can plane with 2 people.
What about a Simplicity 9N or other sizes from B&B? bandbyachtdesigns.com/spindrift
I've built 2 of them, one as per the plans, and another with a canoe stern much like the front part, so it would fit on the foredeck of my yacht at the time.
I didn't bother with the sail, but it rowed really easily, and motored well with a yamy 2HP OB. 5 bolts and wing nuts hold them together, then a locking seat timber.
Or how about the older Seahopper at 250 pounds, that'll be about $800 Au landed, (250 plus 150 freight, makes 400GBP makes about 670 Au, plus duties, delivery, inspection/paperwork). A bit heavy and wide (to carry) and a little too long for my hatchback, but a very stable boat, excellent to row, or sail or motor. www.seahopperfoldingboats.com/bargains.htm
I don't like dinghies over about 20kg, and I prefer something that will fit in the car (no roofracks with this car). I've got on of the WoodenWidget origami things in the shed (but I made it a little too wide), and it does the job, just not serving as a life raft.
