Trying to update old lights with LEDs to reduce power consumption. Have positioned the new light where the old light was on the bulkhead (see photo). The problem is at this angle I find at night the light is shining straight into my eyes.
I am reluctant and unsure how to mount lights on the roof cabin.

Does anyone have any suggestions on more appropriate types of lighting and where to mount.

I fitted these lights, still going 7 years on! Draw about 1 amp each.

Could you make an angled mount that mounts in the original positon and then mount your light to that so that the light is now pointing elsewhere?

Have you thought of fixing them on the side of the settee if you look in your forward cabin the two pieces of wood that hold up the removal bed panel if you had those on the side of you settee you could place them there and just add a reading light above or some thing with shading Thats one place I'm doing in my boat
I have bought 75 led strips and adding a dimmer the leds I bought were not cheap there epoxy covered

Also fitting leds strips in my storage bins under the settee a lot smaller than the above those will be running off one light switch . So if I am sinking I can find a fresh pair of undies before I jump over board quickly
The extra long strips I will also fit at the top of the cabin side and make some shades out of wood
This is a separate system than my yacht lighting so I can run one singal dimmer on the power lead going into the switch panel running these lights Ill try it see how it goes
