Good holding but unless dead flat the swell will be stern on this time of year.
Double island Pt is a better option especially at present.
Been going past that for 50 years and surfed it a lot as well and never seen a lagoon like that there.
Makes sense though given the Bar is much deeper than previously.
Just make sure there is absolutely no expected Northerlys overnight, a gentle 10 kt N can easily become a 25kt nightmare, turning DIP into a hellhole, it's no fun beating out of DIP at night worrying where Wolf Rock is.
Anyone with experience anchoring at Noosa Heads?
Did it last year heading south and anchored just east of main beach.
We stopped there to wait for a SE change to go through and that was only for a couple of hours before it turned to the north again.
We found it was flat but a swell from the change rolled us about a bit.
Best in there with a SW and time on your hands.
Local council will challenge you if you land on the beach so make sure its below the high water mark.

You might want to check out current conditions there
nicknamed cat alley apparently

Thanks everyone for your help.
If I stop, it will only be for a kip. I don't intend going ashore.
In the olden days before gps thingees we always left Mooloolaba in the evening so we would cross the bar in the morning with the sun behind us
in the afternoon you have to look into the sun so very hard to see breaking water ahead as you had to find the way through
still good policy with swell on
now it seems you follow the breadcrumbs
