Excellent photos thanks.

Like the way they twist off the mains downwind to keep them on their feet. No boom vangs.

As a working boat how many crew did these things normally have?

That looks like a lot of sail for a little boat!
How hard would they be to handle compared to say my E26?

They have a huge amount of sail area - but are surprisingly stable both upwind and downwind - but that could be because the skill of the crews....

They are pretty fast as well - they look like lots of fun to me...

According to Bruce Stannard the Couta boats had 2 man crews when used as fishing boats...
