Greetings.

Does anybody out there know the deal with the pile moorings within the Keppel Bay Marina, Yeppoon?
Are these available for term berthing?

Thanks all

They are controlled by the harbour master, office near the water police/fishmonger. I believe they were mothballed more than a decade ago under a dodgy agreement with the marina owner, as the existing leaseholders boats on them perish and are removed they are decommissioned with no ability to put new vessels or leases on them.
Try tying up to them, pretty quickly you will be asked not too politely to move on.
For short term (days not weeks) the ccyc are very accommodating.

Brett is quite correct, many years ago I was on the waiting list, after 3 years I enquire about the progress.
I was told , no more boats to be moored, piles will be taken over by private interest. Zilzie creek look inviting , not sure how safe.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.
Similar situation in Townsville then, piles pulled out and only remaining option is the Marina.

Spotted this near the info centre at Yeppoon, fig tree Ck, bit of a ruffy, high tide access, dry out at low tide, in amongst the mangroves but it's real handy to town !
