You remember navigation error steal yacht PINGVIN
around Island Head Creek.Fatally stuck on the beach.
A few attempts to refloat by creew was unsuccessful.
Sometimes later, perhaps more than a month, a local consortium took
a twin screw ketch CORAL ADVENTURE to help to refloat Pingvin
A few days attempt fail and Coral Adventure deposit himself nicely next to Pingvin
Most of the crew returned home and the owner refloat Coral Adventure two weeks late.
Pingvin was offered for sale on Gumtree for $ 10,000.
Pingvin was eventually sold for five dollars.
I was gunna pack my sleeping bag, some bait, mozzy net, eighteen cartons of beer and a loaf of bread and go live on it where she lays.
Sad to see someone's dream end up like this.
We stopped to have a look on our way north a few months ago, and it's actually a bit difficult to imagine the scenario that caused the grounding. She has ended up a long way from the creek entrance.
Came past again a week or so ago on our return - we didn't have a close look this time, but she seems to be in much the same place.
1x 16 meter landing barge.
2x Yanmar 6LP-STE @ 235 KW each.

it's not a ocean-liner, just a litle yacht and soft sand
a barge from Rosslyn Bay, a couple of thousands,
and a bobcat , a few hundreds
guess job done
I'm only kidding here, but my operator dudes always say "get the biggest machine you can for the job?"
With all the defense force up playing games in the area , you think they could of made an exercise out of floating her!
