Reckon I'll give all three of those scenarios a miss.

So what's the collective verdict?
Better in then Out.
Competence.
Confidence exceeding competence and just got lucky.

It looks like to me that luck played a part in both cases...

The bottom two are fairly old videos now. I remember reading the PBO forums a few years ago when these and similar videos were being discussed. It seems there are a lot of entrances like these in the Scandinavian countries where bumping a rock or concrete walls are the norm. The videos are more exciting than the reality do to perspective but even so impressive.
We just don't realize how lucky we have it here in this country with yachting.

Mali Losinj and Vila Losinj looks to be a boating paradise in Croatia. The vid above is obviously on a bad day. I suppose the nearest thing we have to it here is Lake Macquarie. I think the Swansea channel could get about as scary in bad conditions.

From this vid below and other associated vids it looks like a gorgeous place.

This is their sailing regatta in August this year. Which one of us would not loved to have been there??

Fair enough Ramona. Still, it's a very narrow channel to be entering at speed. Would take some kahuna's.
I thought with the second video people were expecting something by the amount of people watching and taking photos. But if it is the same place as in ciscos first video, then with the amount of road traffic banking up, it makes sense.

nice vid's, but I think I'll pass trying to get the cat in there.

You mean cat rigged yacht or catamaran?? Can't let you get away with sloppy terminology here.
