Looks like the mast was in two sections anyway. In fact may be repairable by sleeving and better connection. Do you have a backstay, and was it tensioned? That bodgy shroud chainplate would not have helped. If you lose tension, or the capstay chainplate has slack, that is where the mast is going to break.

BB is it an insurance job or are you footing the bill.
I raced an M27 for quite a few years which is similar design but slightly smaller rig. 9.3m mast i think.
I replaced the whole lot with carbon fiber and it was the best thing I ever did.
Think it cost around 11k with all running and standing rigging and boom.
Is quite expensive compared to the boat value but if you are replacing with new it is worth considering. I used cst composites in sydney
They delivered to Perth in that price
A few years ago I broke my mast in a breeze. The total quote was $15,000 and the insurance company was balking at it. So I just had them pay to replace the bottom 6' of the mast and the standing rigging. I did the work myself to repair the deck and lifelines. Because of my generous offer, the insurance company even waived my $1,000 deductible. So in the end I got new rigging (my old rod rigging was at least 15 years old anyway) and new halyards too, all for free! I figure I can out ahead on the deal, just with a bit of work on my part.
