Saw this boat beached at Mooloola river at Mooloolaba last week close to shore. Broke its mooring. The authorities called up Claytons towing to pick it up and now at Mooloolaba waterways authorities. located at Parkyn Pde. Can be an expensive retrieval for the owner once they locate them.
Anyone here know what make? About 22 to 24 feet long. Timber with glass over I think but not sure. Deck definitely timber. The name on the boat was Red Baron. Fixed keel.

Just noticed Cisco had a post on this under "Mooloolaba Thursday" I was there Thursday afternoon too. Some more photos on Cisco's post if you want to identify it. Claytons pulled it out on Friday. In the background of Ciscos first photo the units there have just finished being built at $5,000,000 a piece. Thats five million dollars. Not a typo. You do get your own personal elevator.I was looking at a unit there to buy (just signed the contract the other day) just across the street for a fraction of the cost with similar views. No personal jetty unfortunately .

Is it a converted Soling? The transom shape looks right, as does the rig.

Good call Chris, they used them as JOG boats back in the 80's

I think your on the money. Wasn't quite sure. Someone has done a deck conversion. Would have been a real nice boat in its day or still can be if someone threw a few dollars at it. May be a $1.00 dollar buy soon if owner doesn't claim it. Which I doubt he will.

Not sure if they will allocate a mooring for me in view from the balcony. Anyway see what happens. You can point out your boat and will be happy to keep an eye on yours.
