Yanti again. My melita lives in the ivory tavern marina at tweed heads. Has done for 5years. I have had a new neighbour for 2months,he is not a bad bloke. But he has rammed my melita twice now on berthing. First time he knocked my BBQ off my Bimini s/s tube frame bending the tubing i managed to repair it although it is not how it used to be. Well that was last year. Today he needed 3 attempts to berth with his worst one bouncing off my melita like a fender bending a staunchon. Not like it was before. The marina manager is going to talk tomorrow at 8-00am. How angry should I be??

Seriously though, I'd be pretty annoyed. In my last Marina, got a phone call from manager saying the boat had been hit. Turns out luckily only minor damage to anchor roller and bow where anchor was dislodged and hit the boat. The guy paid for the repairs and was thrown out of the marina. He'd just bought the boat through broker at marina, no experience and was told by the manager that he would be given some free lessons. Decided to take it out before the lessons and hit 3 boats on the way out and 2 on the way in.

I help this skipper/dickhead berth. Chased him around the marina twice whilst he was sideways then watched him bash into my boat then placed two bow lines on his boat. Pissed off I walked away while he says. At least I missed your BBQ. I want to sink his boat

Simplest way to teach a new driver how to berth is to really emphasize that going really slow causes little damage if you hit something. Going slow is harder than going fast. Similar on a motorcycle. If you master going slow, youre halfway there. Id be spewing btw. Sounds like a numbskull.

The guy should get a smaller boat so he can learn how to handle it without causing so much damage.

Feel for you Yanti .... we are surrounded by dickheads unfortunately .... another one for the "I know boats" club.

As for the meeting .... thinking I would be pissed and thinking someone owes you dollars

but on a personal note, another reason I pay the extra NOT to have to share a pen, thank you
