I liked your underwater Video Romona as well but didn't want to hi-jack your thread.
I've been dreaming of one of these little beauties. Good for 15m underwater and it can WiFi into your phone so you can see what's on the view finder and remote control some functions. I was wondering if the WiFi works underwater???

I think it would be safe to say that WiFi will not work underwater, the old WiFi protocol is 2.4GHz which is a frequency that will be fairly quickly attenuated given the very low transmitter power involved. The newer standard of 5GHz will be even more adversely affected.

Not sure why you would need WIFI underwater. Would be perfect for mounting in my track car and using an arm band WIFI to actuate the camera. I have to bend my arm around to start mine and its difficult. I will probably get an SJ4000 with WIFI just to have WIFI.

Looks like an excellent walk around camera though.

WiFi under water - just dreaming again. What I thought the WiFi would be good for was having the camera mounted on the targa so I could get some photos or footage when sailing, crossing bars etc.

Just buy a big card and let it run for half an hour or so, edit later. Or buy an SJ4000 with Wifi, they are about $100 now.

Here's a video of a guy getting his GoPro WiFi to work underwater. Simple cheap idea. Might be good for checking anodes or the prop when you don't feel like getting wet or holding your breath. Or see why the main sheet pulls on when you put the engine in gear. Ahh, the Whitsundays, where dreams are made of and anything's possible.
