I just booked a mooring in Thompsons Bay for the weekend of the 19th Jan. I avoid Rottnest on New Years and Australia Day, so it only left 2 weekends really.

Who might be keen fo a catch up? Still school holidays, so bring the whole family and we can organise something for the kids to do to.
BBQ on the beach for lunch and dinner at the Quakka Arms

I'm interested. What mooring number did you get?

25 mate.
There were still quite a few available. Mostly out the back, but I think the booking site only offers what's suitable for the particular boat. I think you draw the same as me so I don't know how close you can get in. I show 10 cm or less under the keel going into just the back 2 lines.

How where the fireworks on the Island tonight mate? Flew back in from the north this evening and it looked magic on the water.
How did you go with getting a mooring for the 19th??

Yeah, not bad at all tonight! We got RM23 for 3 nights, front row for the fireworks. We'll just pick up a shared mooring near you guys for the 19th. Are you planning on going over Friday or Saturday?

My roster isn't actually out yet Mate. I'm confident for the Saturday, but I'll have to wait and see for the Friday.

I might turn up. Make a slight detour on the way to the Sky Show. Look out for me.

No worries, although you are a week early for the Skyshow
I will PM you my number so you can get in touch. What will you be driving?

FreeRadical, at this stage I will be there Saturday (by 10 hopefully) and out Sunday.

What time you planning leaving Mindarie Toph? We will come out the gap from Hillary's and meet up to sail over.

Where are you coming from LALancer?

Is it the pub for dinner Sat? Maybe early around to Parakeet on Sunday where we can raft up for the kids to swim. Beautiful beach there.

We will head home early afternoon.

I don't think we will be leaving much before 0730 mate... "Out the gap", is that to the north of Little Island?

I was thinking BBQ on the beach for lunch. Even if it's just a very simple snag on bread and the Quokka Arms for dinner. Parakeet sounds like a nice idea for the Sunday too..

Yeah, the gap is pretty much straight out from Hillary's. Not a marked passage, but It's fine unless there's a big swell. Only cuts about 0.5nm from the trip distance as opposed to inshore up to Centaur, but can save a bit of time depending on the wind angle.

I am leaving from Point Perron. I am already in the water here.Launched last night. Anchored in the lee here. Sailed over to Garden Is and back this morning and got back on the anchor as the sea breeze came in. I am waiting for a friend to go over on Thursday. I think I will be at Longreach on Thursday and Friday night, because off an expected SE breeze. I will see you some where.

Parakeet looks good, I havn't been there. If we raft up I don't think I should be in the middle.

Don't be scared LALancer, we are friendly blokes. We won't hurt you ...

FR, I'll be up at the boat Frida night, so my only delay will be with Nat getting up there on time. Hopefully be out no later than 7:30, and make our way down to the "Gap". Will meet up with you on the outside. I will message once we are on our way......

LALancer, you will be able to track us with AIS but will also call when we are there.

What are your guys thoughts on just a very simple BBQ on the beach for lunch or just flag lunch completely. My boys will need lunch before we get there in anywise...

I will bring a SUP for everyone to use and was planing on maybe hiring a few bikes for a few hours for the kids. Any other suggestions?

Looking fwd to it.....

Looks good LA, we should arrive by about 10:30. Looks like a nice ENEer to bring us over in the morning, might even suit the Assy! Toph's mooring is about midway between the army jetty and main jetty, we'll grab one nearby.

Bikes sound good for an hour or so, there is also the inflatable water park for the kids and I've also got a SUP. Might just do rolls for lunch, save the hassle of setting up a bbq on beach.

I made it back Point Perron today after fifteen days on board. Good to see two other breezers on my detour to the sky show.
