i hope this not a dumb question. This is mounted on the front of my mast just over head height. I don't know what it does it has a wire coming out of it. Sorry pic is sideways
It might be a flux compass for the autopilot. I've seen them mounted on masts before apparently to avoid interference from metal hulls ,engines, ballast ect.
Gps sensor? I have a old one mounted to the stern of my boat about 2 meters of the deck on a pole.
haven't taken the cover of yet so I don't know what it looks like
Looks like a home made something or other.
Moppo, any chance of taking a look inside? I'm curious.
If that's home made I'd like to see that house!

Yeah, you're right. It looked liked it had been cobbled together with PVC plumbing parts parts to me initially.
My guess now is that it is a motion sensor for a burglar alarm or bird scarer.
Follow the wire.
Where does it lead to?
Exactly. If it is a flux capacitor it will go to the autopilot.

No if it's a flux capacitor the wire should lead directly to 1955

Too funny!
Yes, a flux compass might take you to the autopilot!
