I'd rather have:

yes please , you buy a new one , and then i will buy it from you in a few years time !!

that is a serious cruiser !!!!!

UGLY!!!!!

Proper motor sailors should have fwd sloping windows, proper bulwarks and actually loo like a boat, not a block of flats!!

Try this one, scroll down the Gypsy :)

I think I'll be with you in the Havnot camp too. Serious dollars are completely out of my range.

Really?

I would get embarrassed driving that thing into a Marina!! Plus it would struggle to sail to windward in anything under 10 or over 20.

Try this one then, one of my all time favs

Read carefully Rumblefish; the nordhavnOT camp ;)
If I was in the place to spend that sort of money, after spending an hour or two aboard the Jane Kerr, a boat along her lines would be my ideal motor sailer. She has recently been restored, cray well intact, and has an excellent galley and accommodation, and of course the economical Gardiner.

That is a beautiful boat Donk, but I would never buy one like it as I'm just not OCD enough to keep polishing all that wood, and I know that it would end up looking like crap in just a few years with me as it's owner

HAHA, funny you say that, I took exactly the same pic as your top one at The Wooden Boat Show last year. My fav cray boat, just beautiful!! Not sure if the Jane K is but my Dad has a converted Cayzer built cray boat, love the inset bulwarks!!

Nice! I had a Cayzer 18 ft halfcab put put for a few years in the Mordyalloch creek. Caught a lot of snapper out of that boat.......not quite a motor sailer though.
The Jane Kerr was built by Garry Stewart of Port Fairy for Garry Kerr. The design was by Ken Lacco and Tim Phillips had a part to play in it as well.

Clive's boat is up for sale! Bought in 2009 for $5.3m, neglected to an extent it would need $0.5m spent on it. Recently tarted up for $20k. On the market for $6.3m. Bargain!

Clive is a bleeding crook, if I shook his hand I'd be counting my fingers afterwards to make sure I retained the right amount on each hand
