Well tomorrow (being Wednesday 5/12/2017) I am off on a flat bed truck to bring up my newly acquired Swanson Dart 22 to the Sunshine coast Queensland from Yamba marina NSW.I paid $2,000 sight unseen bar the photos i saw or Yachthub and Gumtree. The previous owner seemed really nice and knew what he was on about and has already carried out some update repairs on the boat. The cost to commercially bring it up out weighs the purchase price so I am borrowing a tray truck from work with a 6.5 metre alloy tray to pick it up myself. T he difficult part will be to lay it down on its side due to it having a fixed keel. The dimensions should all be fine with the length of the boat just over hanging the tray. The mast should also just over hang by no more than a metre and will still fall into the 60% wheel base range as per Govt regulations. The distance from the bottom of the keel to the top of the deck should be no more than 2.3 metres allowing it to comply so its within the 2.5 metres width as the boat will be on its side. I have quite a few old truck and car tyres to lay the boat on to absorb the ride and will be picking up two old queen bed mattress for $10.00 for the boat to lay on as well. As this is not a very big or heavy boat ( i'm guessing around 1400kgs Max) I am hoping the boat should make it up north without damage. I will be taking it to work at Gympie where I will take it off with a 2.5 ton rated forlift. We also have a boom for the forklift and slings. There it will have a make over before taking it back down the coast to Mooloolaba about an hours drive away. Any thing you guys can think off that will help that i haven't?
Cheers.

Ids be trying to find an old earth moving tyre that the keel could slide into the inside annulus
and sit it on another forward near the bow and tie her down

Thanks for that.
I have now committed to the pick up so no time for that. Certainly a thought. Truck loaded with old tyres and two bed mattress.
I'm off to bed for a 3 am start.
Wish me luck .

That looks like a very cheap boat! Including a cradle. I really could do with that cradle.
