Had one of these for about a month. Felt weird to start with, now it feels normal. Great for foils with no drag. Have not stepped on the leash for ages. Have not tried their coil leash yet but may do in the future. Did not like my previous coil leash as it tied it's self in knots.

Really happy with this setup - super strong (Storm) leash with great quality hardware. Really hard yank but no spring back which is what I was after. Customer support is fantastic, with John phoning me after I reported an issue and sorting it out. Paid full price no affiliation.

How much better are waist leashes!! We made one we call and sell as nologo and they work so good. We made it super basic but easy to use and easy to interchange so if you straightened the coil out on a big wave you can just replace the coil part. Making is basic with no logos and no fancy packaging we can sell it nice and cheap at $50
We will add some straight leash options one day as well as bigger surf can be a bit harsh on the coils.
I hate a leash that drags in the water it drives me crazy!!!

Is it just me ? I have used waist leashes on 14' and now my foil and I find they pull harder ( hence snapping ) and I think it's because of the attachment point giving more area to being a anchor on the body as you can point your toes with a leggie so there is less pull to the board . I still like them and will continue to use them ocd standing on leashes also good to know you can get one under $99 thanks Paul as I have been recycling my race belts with new leashes. Thanks hilly for bringing this topic up as the anchor point/pull has been doing my head in for years and may finally get answered

I heard that before I got one so I bought a think leash.

Another benefit is using it with the wingding. Tried this yesterday and it is a vast improvement over having it attached to the wrist. Better paddle out and no tangles when gybing.

Had a photo but uploads not working atm.

See this vid for how the wing leash is attached to the waist belt.

I have been using the storage strap for the kite as a waist leash, it does an awesome job, its not as if there is any great load on it.
