So cool that GoFoil posted matahi on a Cloud9. Honestly foiling is still in that phase where everyone is just stoked on the progression and the competition seems friendly.
How about a tail grab to hold your wing in the water? Crazy.
Great to see guy's charging some solid stuff. Sure beats vid's of dock starts
I guess with a board that short, and waves that powerful, it would be tricky to have enough leverage ( forward weight) to stop breaching . Hence the tail grab/pig dog/coffin ride
crazy skill level for sure.

He's on a GF GL140
I posted the video to YouTube for easy viewing.
I ordered the GoFoil GL140. I have been riding the GL210 in bigger waves and have been able to hold it down up to 12+ foot faces with a 7'4" board. I was skeptical of going DOWN in size but Dave Kalama, James Casey . . . all swear that the GL140 is fantastic. Dave Kalama says "I never feel underwinged with the GL140." Here -->

Hopefully the GL140 wing will make BIG conditions even more comfortable. Considering this video it appears as though the wing can handle 20+ foot waves speeds. AWESOME!!!!
Is anyone else riding big waves on Foils - UNASSISTED by Jet-Ski????
Here was a shot of Haley Fiske last weekend. I had been catching waves at Phlegm Balls over the prior weeks which is halfway to the Bowl at Mavericks.
I lured Haley out with tales of glory. From a distance it looks "Easy Peasy" like a big mushberger wave. Then you put a person on the wave and it looks like this. The conditions were 8 ft @ 13 seconds and high tide. Just short of what it takes for Mavericks to break. Just don't go too deep because there are ROCKS 250 yards inside of this break.
BUT, BUT, BUT for now my new foil playground. Not for the faint of heart. Uncrowded except for. . . Haley.
