No ocean, no wind, no problem . got myself a bungee
Foiling is great :)
Hi knatti,
I am in process of trying to lakefoil, my start choices are Dock, Bungee or next to/behind "no wake" electric boat (max speed 6mph)
Still working on board/deck design, basic is 23/32" plyboard 42" long, 18" wide. Thinking of smaller wooden section and attaching a boogie board.
Foil is Slingshot HG I84 in B position (normally windfall with it in C). Also have a SS Gamma 64, however this set up with the plywood board does not float on surface, so will wait until have a more floaty deck.
Have plenty of bruises and no success with dock start.
Tried bungee today, 1/2" by 50ft, doubled over to make twice the power, and half the length. Extended, it fits nicely between my docks. Very difficult to get board organized with all the bungee force, think need a book to hold the bungee handle, however needs to release easily. The first few I tried got the handle stuck in the hooks. So no success there.
Tried the boat a week or so ago, sitting on back deck and trying to stand up and hold a pole extended perpendicular to boat. No great success but got up on the pole a few times.
Questions:
What board and foil are you using?
Have you wakefoiled before (I have not)?
How are you starting?
What diameter and length is your bungee?
The Foiling NY guy on YouTube uses a winch:

Thanks Pasquales,
Both Clayisland and Foiling NY are using 3 by 3/8" bungees, so my 2 by 1/2" is slightly more spring force.
Clayisland has 100ft length so 200ft stretched, Foiling NY has 100ft stretched bungee, my 50ft stretched length may be too short.

Haven't tried dock starting. My wing and prone foil board are too big. Any luck ? If so what size board are you using ?
