I reckon wing racing could definitely be a solid sport. They're never going to beat kites or windsurfers on fast course racing but 2 unique race styles they could be good for-
Wingcross- motorcross style racing with lots of obstacles and manuevers to get through, there could be slalom sections, sections in and out of surf, hurdles or whatever.
Long distance wing+ paddle- riders could be set up with a wing a paddle and a backpack for supplies and set off for a long distance down wind race like Perth to Geraldton or something like that.
I haven't worked out all the logistics just yet, just throwing ideas out there
Great to see how they perform against each other. A lot more Duatones than Naish out there. But doesn't seem to be too much between both brands in my view.
The biggest difference between the 2 brands (Naish & Duotone) that I could see & people mentioned were the structure of the 2 wind wings...The Duotone had a boom & and a more structured shape vs the Naish that had the handles & a looser wing structure...
Alex Aguera used a 3m in the first race which gave him a slow start & not enough power upwind when everyone else was on a 4m....He then switched up to the 4m for the next 2 races & got a first & a 2nd & was on the new GoFoil GL wing...
