I have a Naish Thrust that was mounted via tracks added to my X32. Now I have a board with deep tuttle and I bought the Naish adapter. But it is so tight. In fact, at first it would not fit. After a bit of filing/sanding it fits, but I will need to push hard to seat it down (the last 10mm) - I am worried I won't get it out again.
Is that too tight?
Yes. It is too tight. I had the same issue with my Naish deep tuttle adaptor and had to sand it quite a lot to get the right fit. It should be firm but not too tight. I used a medium grade sand paper, sanded in small increments, stopping to test the fit, until I was happy with it.

Thanks NTAA - can I assume you sanded the Naish adapter and not the tuttle insert?
Tuttles sometimes have fit issues because it was designed in the US years ago by Larry Tuttle at 5/8" wide.
Then the Asian manufacturers starting makeing them 16mm.
Plus it's a basic design issue. It's line on line no tolerance fit. Windsurfers have been dealing with fit issues for 25-30 years.
