hi guys
just wondering if anyone out there has one of these boards or has surfed one, they look pretty good for the bigger waves but also as an allrounder plus they are on sale at the moment, thanks in advance
Jarryd
I saw Jarrod surfing the prototype at the alley just before it was released and the board looked impressive...looked to be a lot of fun and was handling some decent sized waves with ease... I'd get one if I didn't have too many other boards!!
I have had one for over 4 months now and rate it very highly, I can't say much bad about it besides at 12kg it is a little heavy if you got to carry a distance but that weight is needed for a board that long for on the waves IMO. I think it also should have deck plugs to put a net on it for a bottle or to stash ya hat, I put some in myself.
It has good paddle speed for cruising to bombies, points, islands etc.
Will catch waves from miles out the back.
Turns better than a lot of 2-3 foot shorter boards I have ridden. Just get back on the tail and it turns quick.
I have surfed it from knee high to double overhead, it handles it all well. My go to for the big swells.
Super stable and will punch through big white wash.
Build quality is great it has had some big knocks, got one small rail crack that didn't go through, no dents or dings anywhere and deck hasn't compressed.
Over all very happy with it, this board is a keeper.
Finally had a chance to take the Venom out today in some serious waves. I had Currumbin to myself then we headed down to outside snapper for a few lumpy ones. What a day!
Here are a couple of screen shots from the vid which will be released soon.
Jarrod
I called you and asked how big it was and you replied "Over Head". I pictured a hand above the head not a 12 foot sup and an 8 foot jetski over the head.
Not long back from 4 days of awesome SUP surfing at Bendalong/Green Island with my 11 other prone surfing mates. Took my Starby 8'8" Airborn and my new Venom.
Took the Venom down as a bit of a fun idea as mainly got it for use on the small days and for my wife on the flat water.
Well.....................ended up only using the Venom at Green island (Starby at Bendalong) and it totally ROCKs!! 4'++ and the Venom was an absolute rocket/weapon out there. Totally smashed it. I could not believe how you can throw this thing around when you get back on the tail. Handled late take offs with ease. Wave count high......very (very) high!!
Some of my other SUP mates about to buy one as well.
Smokin'
Great to hear so many wraps on the Atlantis Venom. Does anyone have any shots? Jarrod opted for a shortboard this swell on the Goldy and all we have is the shots from the last swell. Love to see some current images :)
Me and my mates now have 5 Venoms between us.......................Awesome boards. Can handle anything.
Had noticed that the Venom no longer appears in the SBW catalogue. New model coming or dropped like the Runway
The two boards that most interest me in their lineup.
I can't praise this board enough. A must for everyone's quiver. I now have 2 of them, and 6 of them between my mates. Do yourself a favour and get one
