I have been using this fin on my 2014 glide 14 gx and love it. Sheds any weeds, improved tracking and glide over the stock naish fin(which is a high quality fin).
close at 9.4 inches. been mainly using it in flat water that requires little maneuvering, have practiced pivot turns with it on and had no issues. Not that the 2014 glide needs any help with stability but this fin definitely steadies out the board even more. Bet it would really help out on narrower boards. Haven't had a chance to DW with it yet. It has a really interesting foil that is hard to describe, need to feel it for your self. been using black project windsurfing fins for a little while and they really seem to know what they are doing. From the looks of the website they seem to have a new paddle coming out too(might be a little late to the party tho..
That is a lot of surface to maneuvre with when drafting in racings...One of the big trade-offs of such fins for me is that if the leader of the pack changes side I often lose there tail, get in the wake and beye beye
Very expensive. In fact it was the most expensive fin I've ever bought. Very heavy. The base of the fin was too deep to fit in the finbox of my SIC Bullet 14. I've never experienced that problem before, and I must have 100 fins in my collection. It was a devil of a job to get it to fit, I had to sand away about 5mm or more off the fin base depth as well as the usual sanding to fit widthways as well. The guys at Black Project had recommended this fin for the Bullet so I was surprised and reported this issue to them. They did not seem nearly as bothered by this as I was.... So, if your board has a standard US longboard-type box rather than a Chinook/windsurf type box then you might want to try the fin in your board first, or accept that you might have to spend an hour with a detail sander to get it to fit. If I hadn't paid a fortune for international mail and tax and would have had to have paid for the return, I'd have just sent the fin back. The fin is also extremely sharp at the tip and trailing edge which might present a hazard in a DWing wipe-out.
I have a very (very) similar fin from Maui Ultra Fins, CNC'd out of G10 (I suspect they come from the same file/machine). Similar issues to A10, had to file down the tab on the base to get it to sit into my fin boxes. Also have to useand extra-long bolt because the foil section is wider than the box slot. I don't mind it as a fin, have used it in everything from my 12' all rounder to a 17' Naish but there are other fins I use a lot more.
Was lucky and mine was plug and play, no sanding necessary.
HumanCartoon, What fin do you find yourself using most?

I most often use Larry Allison fins on my 14'...Gladiator in chop (which is most of the time, where I live) or Ninja in glass.
Even if the fin outline looks the same it is very different in profile and that is extremely important :)
