If I were to cut the tail off my pintail wide point to make it a squash would that enhance or destroy my board?
I think you kill it. I sailed with windsurfing boards that are cut down to square.
As a result the fin is a lot closer to the tail and although it makes the board very turny they are also very prone to spin out. But what do you wanna archieve by cutting it down (and why not selling it and buy something else)?
I will just sell it. I think the tail is to narrow for the soft waves we have locally. I was thinking it might help catch waves earlier.
Right...you need a tail like the board in the upper rack. And look at the nose on the board below it! WTF?! Good times in Santa Cruz.

I like that board. I think skinny curvy sells but is not always what is best. My next board will be similar to that shape.
