Just wanted to let you know I purchased a JP wide body board this time last year for my wife and boys to learn to ride. It turned out to be a great choice as everyone we camp with over the summer had a crack riding it and loved it. I even found my feet again surfing small to mid size waves and had a great time over the summer. However over the last year I started to notice the deck staring to sink in a tad under my weight of 89Kg and wasnt sure if it was slowly going south only to get worse over time. Being concerned i took the board back for the boys to have a look at. They tested it for leaks and took some video of the deck pad and said they would get back to me. True to their word both Fletcher and Hudson did get back to me and said it was a border line case as you would expect some compression on the deck pad where you usually stand. Having said that it can be dificult to tell if the problem is going to get worse without cutting the board open to see. Long story short they simply gave me a new board to make sure the problem would be solved. Not only did they do this i ended up geting a more surf orientated board into the bargain which better suited me as we have all moved up in our skill level over the last summer. In addtion to this i have been testing other boards for my 9 year old son and they have been more than generous with test boards as i have taken out a few different models of recent times and they couldn't have been more helpful. If you are thinking of getting a new SUP give the lads at SHQ a go as when it came to the crunch they stood behind their customer and the brand they sell so credit where its due. Many thanks to Fletcher and Hudson for their attention to detail and putting the customer first! Cheers Oldboy.

My son testing out on a JP Fusion 9'8 x 31 he loved it on the flat water and in small surf at Cosy Corner Torquay.

Great to hear about retailers/dealers like this! Obviously you did not expect a whole new board...but they certainly did what they could and the company came through for them! I think it also demonstrates some of the reasons for purchasing a higher end brand name product... You may still find some problems, but the company is more likely to back up their product than the multitude of cheap brands on the market at the moment. Story with a happy ending! :D

Great story. Businesses like this that have an eye on the bigger picture deserve our support.

Hey Human Cartoon

When you spend a large amount on a SUP not to mention all the accessories to go with it like carbon paddles, board bags etc you hope all will go well but some times things do go wrong and thats when you hope the people you are dealing with are going to professional and in this case they certainly were. So its only right that when you get good service its best to let people know as you don't have to look far for stores of unhappy customers and Sups that don't come up to the mark. Cheers Oldboy
