Hello Supboarders,

First of all I want to apologize for my very bad English....

I allow myself to post my first subject on the Forum following long months of reading here on the various subjects of SUP, where I was able to learn and find opinions, feedback and advice which were very useful to me !!

My name is Ben, I live in France and have been practicing SUP for a little over a year in the South West after quite a few years of practicing Longboard (Surf).

After starting out on a Nahskwell Skoll 10'5 board (32'3/4 and 190 liters in single) which was perfect for learning, I started looking for a more "efficient" board to continue my progress. but keeping "comfort" to keep a maximum of pleasure !!

Being 1m89 and +/-110kg depending on the season, looking for a board that remains stable, where I don't lose too much volume or length in order to keep comfort while gaining in "performance" I started looking for "THE perfect board " .
I searched a lot on the different forums, boards sites and finally following a great contact with Smik Europe I decided to trust them on the realization of this board !!

After a lot of discussions with Antoine from Smik Europe but also the advice of Mr Scotty McKercher, a magnificent Smik Hipster Twin was born, 9'10 x 33' and 170 liters which is absolutely beautiful!!

After a few sessions, I can tell you that this board is pure happiness !! stable, manoeuvrable, fast , It is 500% what I was looking for !!

Really a very very big thank you to the whole Smik team!!!!!

Hi Ben, that a great looking board, the proportions look fantastic, no way it looks 33 wide.

The Hipster twin is at the top of my list for my next board, I am trying to decide between the 8'6" or the 8'3" sound like there is not a lot of downsize in going a little longer.

Keep us in the loop as you get more time on this super board.

Steve.

Hi guys ,

Thank you for your messages, indeed Drivethebus the proportions are really superb and visually the width of 33' is really not obvious.
Unfortunately, I have only been able to do very few sessions since my last message because here in Europe for a few weeks the conditions have been wintery and not very clean....

Given my weight (+/-110kg) my height (1m89) and the 190 liter and 10'5 board (longboard outline) on which I had started Supsurfing 1 year ago, I was a little afraid of I was very unsettled at the beginning with this more "shortboard" outline, and this reduction in length with these 9'10 and the 20 liters less but really the board is very comfortable with these 33' wide, I just had to find the zone of longitudinal balance which is much more limited than on my old big board.

I was treated to a session with almost perfect waves of +/-1m (3 to 4 feet) which went really well and really it was at this moment that I was able to feel and understand all the feedback and comments that I had read on the Hipster Twin and that made me fall for this board !!

Really I am in love with this board !!!!

So much in love that I fell in love and contacted Antoine from Smik Europe to discuss with him to find a second board that would complement this Hipster Twin and with my past as a longboarder (surf) it's quite naturally how we are. arrived on the Style Lord !!!

The project is launched, I will try to open a new post to present it to you!!
