Giving a bit of more length to my board but still keeping a bit more positive than zero flotation.

Drawing files for others finally I draw mine to surf the glassy conditions around my home beach break.
To draw that I started from a 5'10" 18,25" shorty and add and mix foam to do this file what I call "BAT BOARD"
7'7" 27.5" 4" 90 liters just enough to carry my 79Kg body in the glassy of the Landes.

Nice
I also have a similar tail on my favorite 7'3" board, with the same ofo as you (19"), closer to a Slate sci-fi actually, and I like very much the looseness and acceleration.

I would not use such a pulled in nose however. In my experience more width at 1' in front of the center is important for the stability, and a wider nose, with a square or diamond tip is extremely useful in Les Landes with their often hairy takeoffs: the more parallel rail lines make the board stays on its course if you dig the front rail in a heavy late takeoff on a steep face, whereas a pointed nose will often put you off slightly balance, just enough to wipeout hard at the bottom. Plus the wider nose (my ofo is 20.9") allows to put all your weight on a forward rocking movement to penetrate on hollow takeoffs without fear of nosediving ("un depart en bascule").

I would add also a tad of nose kick.

Dear Colas, I understand what you mean looking for stability and forgiving from the board but I would say my main mistake is simply to think like I'm gonna be able to SUP surfing like the young athlete Mo Freitas does.
At 63 years old, after that 7'7" 27.5" 90 liters done I think I will give up that kind of SUPshortboard to use a mini-malibu-SUP like you do.

Well, Mo boards are 22" wide, your is 27.5", mine is 29.7"... I think Pro board performance rely more on the overall width than the super-pulled in nose. I'd rather reduce my main width than get back to extremely pointed noses.

Anyways, if you look at pros riding super small boards, Mo or Caio Vaz, they carry the main width in front of the handle, nearly for 2'. I'd advise to do the same, even if you want to keep a pointy nose tip.

Hi Colas, I follow your advice and I keep in mind the sweet spot of the shorty and stand up paddling ability ;-)
About dimensions, any ones are available from this original file. Mine will be 7'8" 27.5" 89 litres

I would have added a bit of nose rocker, though...

I've done a bit of more nose rocker to this mono-concave coming into a double concave around front fins area with a Vee at the winged tail ;-)

Very smooth rocker... It should be a killer.

Note that Tomo (Daniel Thomson) & Kelly Slater are raving now on the same kind of outline as the Gong Fatal (semi-square nose, "sci-fi" tail), on their new "Cynatic" board:

https://shop.firewiresurfboards.com/collections/slater-designs/products/cymatic

The video is impressive, but as always, it has everything to do with the rider rather than the board itself... but the show is worth it by itself...

It can be the same kind of outline between boards but the bottom plan shape are an as much important parameter as you can watch on this kind of Cymatic SUP that I draw. That's board planning area is just a sweet spot in its all board from nose to tail.

Try another kind of shape, the old classic Twin fin with wings, geared with MrX from FCS. Mono concave, to double concave with a tilted swallowtail

Nice... but I still think more width forwards brings the most fun for SUP outlines, see for example the last SMIK twin:

Thank you, Jason. Shaping took off my youth time and now designing on software is taking the rest of my life. It's an endless research, it would be better to spend time out. I should stop it.

Scotty does very good SUP with SMICK Twin and his boards make me really frothing but my project I'm posting about here is doing SUP with a minimum buoyancy and dims. Definitely close to the shorties I design for young surfer like Leo, here on the picture a few days ago on the board I "plump out" to design that I call " LEO SUP"

That is what I am trying to say: you will be able get away with smaller dimensions and 10 liters less volume with an outline like the SMIK twin above than the "Leo board" one... especially when we are not 15 years old anymore :-)

On the opposite, I found that a pulled-in nose allows for more volume (for faster paddling speed) without being too cumbersome in turns as you stay narrow.

Colas, most of the SUP in the +7'6" range has a double positioning, first one to paddle stand up and the second for a prone surfing position. Those two parameters mean to draw kind of two boards in one moving desperately the sweet spot of the board forward the nose to the paddle position. My goal is to do a board where the sweet spot is the main consideration. Can be an impossible goal drawing a board able to efficiently paddle and keeping the abilities of your best shorty.
Maybe a necessarily return to my first shapes like this one www.shape3d.com/Warehouse/Board.aspx?Account=6301&BoardName=BADBOARD which is much closer to a bodyboard shape and its EPX materials.

Kami,

Fell love with this one.

I've sold some boards and I'm looking for a new one. And something like this, with a tad more volume for me would be a killer.

I'm now using 98% of the time a 7'6"x28.5" with quite parallel rails and 99 liters, It's comfortable waiting on standing position and surfs very well (for my poor level) but I want to challenge myself a little bit.

I read before that you weight 75 kg as I remember... tell me what is yours dims wanted I will make them up in that shape. The shape3d program allows transforming any file in dims required. MP me, please.

I'm looking for my next SUP surf board

Instead of doing what I have to do at home, I kept drawing this afternoon. If you are looking for your next SUP board, you may think about this next one I draw.
From one board looking as a GOFISH which is a recent board from FireWire. I design that SUP with the same kind of bottom plan shape but getting a very good compromise of easy paddling. due to its parallel outline but having a wider tail than the nose. Combined with the tail lift this outline make the board very loose but still drivey cause of the length of its rail.

Pretty similar to the board I use 98% of the time:

Ok, it's looking the same very loose and probably fattest like this version I can fit to your minimum buoyancy.
Your board would be an 85 liters 7' 26.7"
With that outlook =www.shape3d.com/Viewers/Viewer3D.aspx?Account=6301&BoardName=SUP+FISH
