hi guys can't decide between an hokua 9'6 Le x32 170 ltd or a smik spitfire 9'6 .x32 155lt What like some thoughts on which one .? I weigh 105kg
I had the 9'1" X32 naish when they first came out. Within a week it felt massive. I ended up on the 8'8" and found it perfect for our size.
What kind of surf is it for?
It's for point and beach breaks on the west coast , bells , Torquay . I have mana 10 already . We get a lot wind and chop down our way
Hi John .
i also stepped down from a 10 mana 2 years ago .to the 9.6 GT .best thing I ever done .
it will take any drop you throw at it ...never nosed dived it ,yes it has plenty rocker.
It's a perfect big man performance board .
I've tried quite a few boards ..but I alway come back to my x32 s
I'm 95 kgs and have sold my 9,6 now and moved to the 9.1 &8,8 but I needed to ride the 9,6
for a year before going down ,as they are a lot different to the mana ...wobbled a bit .but big cut back lip bashing steep drops chop ,it deals with it all.
i won't be selling my x32 s .it suits the steep little waves I ride .it is best as a quad .7 front 4 rear .
both the 9,6 and 9.1 will carry your weight ...but if it s more float your after maybe the 9,6 .if you do
very high performance moves go the 9.1 .
i have had my 9,6 in some big waves .i sold mine to a 100 kg mate ,he loves it .
he stepped down from a190 litre 10'6 halo .he's improved so much .
i would save my money and get the GT .over the LE ....They are stronger .
i haven't ridden the smik .
Hi robdog , is it nice and loose for a 9'5 ?

I'm 68 yrs 85kg with poor balance due to PD. So I know I have to sacrifice a bit of performance for stability. The 9'5" spitfire has ample stability for me as long as it's not too windy and choppy. I tend to ride it a bit flat in the water, not getting it up on its rail. However the board surfs quite well. Construction is excellent.
I demo'd the 8'8" spitfire and found it surfed much better however it was too tippy for me.

Thanks robdog , I am a bit concerned at the volume of the board at 155 lt I am 105 plus and 56 yrs of age .i am not over weight just solid . Just wondering if there is enough volume in the board for those windy choppy conditions?
Just bought an 8'8" Spitfire at 90kg it is so stable and surfs brilliantly, I highly recommend them.
You nailed it regarding unlimited speed potential..... The custom option adding a masttrack creates a viable windsup too...have fun moving on up
