I actually demoed the Sunova Speeed 9'5 on the flat water on Saturday afternoon . The temptation was too much. Despite Creeks advice that this girl would be too much for a beginner like me, I had to trial her out. In the flesh was even more sleek and beautiful - even with her stubby nose. I was overwhelmed and felt unworthy - as I was. I am not ready for this sexy women but I had to try her out.
She was expecting that I was asking for full service - but all I wanted was a flat water paddle - hugs and kisses - I am a humble man.

It was fairy messy out there but she:

A. Paddled straight
B. felt a but tippy but strangely I never felt like I would fall in.
C. Was fairly slow but the nose handled the chop superbly - just took it out of the equation . I always felt safe

I returned her after a couple hours. Grateful just to have touched her . She is beautiful but as Creek warned - I am not ready for her full capabilities

You're a hippy mate. Get it out on the waves. I give you 60 seconds to ejaculate

Lucyloo is the Sunova Speed your go to board in all conditions? I was thinking about the Naish Mana 8'10 (i've tried the 8'5 and enjoyed it) - i've got the Sunova Style '10 but prefer my 8'6 Trigger Bros

Yes the 8.10 Sunova Speed is working in all size waves for me but i do have the 9.6 Atlantas Runaway for a nose rider when the urge takes me.Problem is the speed has the magic that makes it hard to pass on so i use it pretty much all the time

Lucyloo which board is more stable when not on the wave, the 9'6 runway or 8'10 speed ?

The Speeeds are more stable than you think they are. I have a 8'5" Speeed and 8'3" Soul. Both are around the same volume but the Soul is over an inch wider. It is harder to balance on than the Speeed. This must relate to the parallel rails and minimal nose taper. Both boards are completely different but both are excellent to ride. I had a 7'11 Speeed and this was the best board I have ever ridden but I struggled a bit with balance at times. On reflection I should have waited for the next size down from the 8'5". I am 6' and 80 kgs to give some perspective.

My point is really to choose the volume you require and don't worry about the width as it is misleading.

Oh please you feel the need the need for SPEEED!!!!!!!!!!I am 5'10 100 kgs and have an 8'10 for anything over 1' and love it, I also have the style xl and love it less now that I have the SPEEED on dial (get it speeeddial )

How big are you, maybe the 9'2 might be the size?

xurfsup. She was a beauty.
However my first choice would have been to demo the Sunova Surf 9'5 but wasn't available.
The Speeed is a meant to be a performance surf sup .....hence my unworthiness.
The only issue I have with both the Speeed and Surf at 9'5 is the 32ish width. At my height Of around 5'4 it makes the angle of the paddle an issue and I have to lean more to get a vertical paddle. If I was to go the Speeed I would probably be better of at 9'2 and 30 wide.
After seeking advice from the master - Sup the Creek - the Surf would be a better option.
The other good thing about the Surf is the fin box. From what I can tell you can put in a long board fin or race fin for improved tracking when used in flat water.
