I have an Infinity New Deal (125L) that's too big for my 150lbs. Like it a lot but too big.
I have an opportunity to trade it in for either an 8'6" x 29" 114L New Deal or a 9' x 28" 104 L New Deal.
I am still getting comfortable on my 7'11" RNB and would like the New Deal to be little more stable.
Anyone with a view on difference in stability between 8'6" 114 L and 9' 104L New Deal?
At your weight I don't think there is much difference in stability. But as I understand it the 8'6 is more rockered and better suited for a little bigger steeper waves. If you want a more longboard drive and glide type feel the 9' would have that and it's a better volume for 150 lbs in my opinion. 7'11 rnb is going to have significantly less surface area than the 9 ft longboard, even with its wide tail.
I would get the 9x28 cause it's a better complement to your RNB, more distinct. I find the 9x28 ND fairly stable for the volume (compared to 100L Blurr at least), but I'd Guess RNB is also stable for volume with parallel outline
Take w grain of salt but I think if you want a rough day stable board, maybe get a used beater 8x29.5 or something, then have your nice ~100L RNB/ND long and short combo. They should become stable at 1.5 L/kg
