Good waves have been few and far between down here over January. This day was fun with a few speed riders and no others.
Right Point P I ?
I think saying conditions have been OFF to sh1t would be closer.
Love the second wave.
Looks great. What size Speeed? I'm seriously thinking of getting one but not sure what size would suit.
Its the 8.10 Captain with xl c drives,im 180cm and around 85 kegs, plenty of board there for those specs.I have the 8.5 as well but use when waves have more shape and super clean conditions prevail.Great board the speed.
Thanks Lucyloo. Sounds like the 8'10" would suit me fine. I had a go on a mate's Jimmy Lewis 8'11" Stiker this morning in very small surf and found it a bit hard to paddle onto waves. My mate loves it and catches lots of waves and I know I'm not the greatest SUP'er but I expected a bit more from it. Can't wait to demo a Speeed [of any size!] for a comparison. Cheers.
I love my 8'10 speeed.
The biggest change from my previous board was the width, the speeed is 29" wide and in the confused mush we have here (UK) I found it quite tippy. However I changed my paddling stroke and spent some time practicing spinning on the tail to get used to it, now.. well it's just fantastic.
I searched and looked on here and StandupZone, read as much as I could, watched all the videos (STCs are great) before buying it, I'm so happy that this board has a passionate group of riders/followers because it's just a fantastic board.
I bought 9'5 Speeed last week but have been struggling with low tides and messy surf. And then today I got a clean wave that just took off flying down the line only stopped by the sight of approaching rocks.
Got some biggish waves in the the creek mouth yesterday and the amazing thing about this board is how the nose stays up.Thought I was a goner in free fall a couple of times but the nose didn't dig in and the board just kept going.
