Hey Carvos, nice surfing and nice waves. Was everyone okay with you surfing on a sup? Where on Bali are you surfing?
The evolution 2 Gulliver V box is on rails for the bottom turn. I can trust it in any size. No sketchy feeling hoping rail holds like many of the boards I have owned. Best of all if I fade my bottom turn set the rail, the board accelerates, it is an awesome feeling to ride. Location West of Kuta. 18 days of surf in a roll, this vid was shot on a average size day. Every morning light off shore, smallest day head high, largest 2 1/2 over head.
Morning. Bali was excellent. So, as long as you can ride, don't take all the waves, be friendly, it is all good. The odd Aussie seems to like to be a smart arse however get out their early 5.45 am, talk to surfers, call the sets. I only saw 2 other sups the whole time I was there. Think the v box helps, surfers comment on how well it goes and even the odd request to try, which is entertaining because they think it will be easy, as we know takes a bit to get use to a small board. Sign up at one spot, no paddleboards on the outside peak. But on the large days 2 1/2 over head, 30 surfers out, all sitting on the second peak and I was the only one going out to the main take off peak. There was the odd clean up set which help me understand why air is important, not overly heavy just a big swim and take 5 on the head, swim to the channel and paddle out again. The people the food the surf the sunsets are unbelievable. (and cost is so low).
Morning. I weigh 90 kg. V box is 7'9" (the white one Evol 2) The orange thing is a go pro camera, will I can share, it takes a bit to get use to. Two reasons I could see it and the extra weight on my face seemed to effect my balance more than I thought it would. Have you demo a V box, unbelieveable. cheers TC
