A funny twist of fate has brought this board to me. After selling my 7'9 L41 to a guy, he then offered me a reduction in price for a custom artwork which I accepted. While trading boards, he let me use his one (this one) while he was deciding on the L41.
long story short, a month later he asked if I wanted his and he liked the L41 now. It's only 95l but seemed to work for me in my little test ride so I said why not.
it's a starboard carbon pro 7'7 x 27 x 95l, but he custom painted it and now i think it's deserving of the eggplant title.
Had my first proper outing today in some punchy 1.5xoh waves and it lit up! Need some extra grip pads along the rail and further forward as I slipped off a few times but it's so agile and flighty. Nearly got barrelled on it. Changed the quad for my centre fin off the 8'2 Smik spitty pintail. Interesting design, only single concave (no vee, or double) and quite flat in the middle, but then this weird decent amount of late tail rocker that just whips it around so tight if stomped on.
Anyone else ever ridden this model? Only weighs about 6kg.

It's always interesting how little changes in board design can make a big difference in how they ride.

Thanks Hoppo, yeah I'm still learning the board but that day felt great.
What I found interesting, is that it's the only pro model in the entire range that year that only had a straight single concave and they only offered it on that one size. Would love to know the design reasons why.
Thought there might've been some other people on the forum who might've tried one or known a bit about them, but hasn't been a lot of responses.

I owned this board for a while 7'7 pro 2016 95L I think it is Scott M designed .. for me it was the best pro shape starboard ever made I think it's pretty thin from memory( 3.5 ?) works amazingly as a quad. A board I regret selling ! Worth holding on to - construction is super tough and light. Good purchase !

Thanks Jimbo, yeah I think that's the same board! how come you sold yours? The guy I got it off also reckoned it worked really well with big keel fins and a smaller centre fin too.
It worked pretty well as a thruster with the centre fin from my Smik spitfire
