Love the look of timber so thinking about a timber paddle, anyone have one of thesehttp://www.gillespiepaddles.com/Product/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=69
How do you find them? too heavy? durable
Don't have that particular brand but do have a watersports Tas timber paddle . I have 3 paddles , 1 carbon fibre , 1 naish adjustable , and my timber paddle and the timber one is the one I have used pretty much everyday for the last 18 months . They are heavy compared to the other paddles but I only use mine in the surf and cant say I particularly notice the weight . Mine has copped a pounding , have snapped it once after a pretty good wipeout , but really happy with its durability.
You can see mine in my profile pics - having trouble uploading a pic will try again latter .

heres some pics of mine from watersports Tas . the thing I love with the timber paddle is the power it seems to generate . When I snapped mine and was using my other paddles I was often checking the blade to make sure it was still all there .Seriously missed mine when it was snapped and very glad to have it back in the water .
