A boring day with no surf so what to do... compared the old hokua to my newish creek. lining them upside down the only noticeable difference is the obvious massive rocker on the hokua, the channels on the creek which means the fins are placed more into the middle of the board and the hokua has a double concave running through the middle.... one starts to consider what impact would it have on the creek if you had a double concave running through the board ???? Is this what gives the hokua that amazing looseness???

double concave is usually for water and chop dispersing .and smoother ride .high rocker boards are usually looser due to having less board in the water .
i still have a 8'8 x32 ..loose little mothers alright . but a lot harder to catch waves and do lack speed in weaker waves ,but lots of fun .

While I was at the Sunova factory for the month of May, I got to hear Bert answer a lot of questions from factory crew.
I was amazed at how clearly he "sees" design features and how they interact withwith each other. His clarity is savant-like.

Here's a video that explains his use of concaves:

Bert is a walking encyclopedia of shaping information..... if you ever have a question on ANY design feature or construction specifics, go to the Sunova "Tech" video page..... a LOT of vids covering anything you always wondered about.... and lots you didn't
Go to YouTube and search "Sunova Surfboards" then click "Videos"
I tried to paste their channel page here, but it didn't work.

What I will say about the "Creek" as it stands:
It is uncomplicated and easy to ride, nothing to "learn".......It is "plug and play" simple.

I'm not messing with that

love what you did the nose Creek ..it really made the board easier to ride than most .i was able to ride it in any conditions .
the rocker and extra nose pull is perfect.

hope you don't mind, but i might get a rounded pin custom creek in the near future .
