What boards would you guys recomend ... am new to racing boards so want reasonable stability, especially as will be standing/paddling for a long time
Cheers

Go long 16'+ with a dug out. Sort of gone out of fashion as everyone went to foils. Occasionally a cheap good value one pops up s/h.

You have extra racks designed for this.

If you are new to racing and are concerned about stability the SIC Atlantis in 14 x 26 is a great stable all round board for long distance racing and can deal with any conditions thrown at it but still performs well in the flat. It also has bungee tie downs and an easy carry handle / cockpit drain. I think there should be good deals on these at the moment as it has now been replaced by the SIC RST.

A 14 is your only option for that kind of distance ,I struggle doing 30 or is it 10 .hmm ..but I'm more of a surfer ,we are lazy .and need rests in between waves .good luck ,can you just do the first half ,?? doesn't Dad have the finial word ,

What event are you preparing for? The water conditions will influence the board design but you'll be looking at least a 14ft race board.
