Gday everyone
looking to head over to Bali end of Oct - mid Nov to either Lembongan or Lombok
sort of a last minute Getway :) before the full wet season kicks in.
I've heard its ok that time of year for a SUP surf keen to hear what everyone thinks and if anyone has been to Lembongan surfed at playgrounds or anywhere else ? or if you think Lombok would be better

thanks

Lards

I surfed both in April and you can't go wrong in either
Lembongan I rented a board rom Eddys and he had sunova and starboard for rent
Shipwrecks was great with a long wave right hand and dependent on the tide a steep fast take off
lacerations was also fun and a bit more tide dependent . Lembongan was easy access on the boat from sanur with plenty of accomodation choices and restaurants and beach clubs The snorkelling was also great
my wide doesn't surf but loved lembongan
I then went to Lombok with my son and we stayed at Heaven on the planet surfing inside and outside Ekkas the first four days were average surf but the last four were great early and late were best as a lot of other boats came from all around throughout the day
there is not a great else to do from Heaven on th planet but we surfed twice a day so didn't care
their was snorkelling (but it didn't compare to Lembongan ) they also had a great board shop so you could walk in each day and choose which board you wanted and the boat took you to the reef you wanted to go to
you will have a great trip at either and I'm just jealous I am not going back again this year

There was no decent waves at playgrounds while we were there but I have heard it can be fun but a little crowded
where we stayed was fine but on the other side of the island and next time will be along the main beach where the ferry comes or the bay opposite playgrounds

Wayne Dean - Hideaway? Lombok ( Kuta ) - rentals, organises trips, bike rental - great ripping round the area with my wife on the back - felt 50 years younger - like Bali was in 1975 ( 3 months )

Cheers mate
just returned from indo
nusa lembongan was great hired boards from Eddys good range of boards

stayed at Kuta Lombok & just prone surfed as I didn't see your message till I got back home ????
just have to check out hideaway next time.
Tim at Ombak Ekka's is now only hiring sup boards if you stay at there homestay sounds like he's had some issues with people hiring boards so understandable.
