Hi, new to the forum and sup. I bought a new board three weeks ago and am really enjoying it but this afternoon I noticed two splits in the glass. On down near the tail and another up near the nose. I've been really careful with the board and it hasn't been dropped or banged around. The one on the tail is around 5cm long but is really clean and follows the curve of the rail and there is a black rubber from underneath pinched in it? I've never seen anything like it on surfboards and was wondering if I should be concerned. Will try and add a photo here
Thanks for any help you may be able to give and for a great forum to learn from.

I'd use ding tape.

I'd be concerned!
What's the story with the black rubber underneath? That's weird!
Take it back to where you purchased it and ask for advice, it may be a manufacturing fault covered under warranty?

Or check your wetsuit to see if you're missing a chunk of it!

Agree with the last post - looks like you may have landed on it and it has pinched a bit of material in the crack

Hi the board looks like its had some knocks and is showing about 3 different scratches. Any of which could cause the crack shown.

I hope i don't come across as mean, but you need to treat it like a surfboard, using a Sup is going to cause it get damage, there is no way around it.

Just like a surf board, first time you take it out you could snap it, or most likely put heel dents in it, on a SUP it is tougher but still knocks to the front or back will cause it to crack.

The good news is that repairs are cheap.

IMO...Boards never go any good until you ding them...Then you don't care as much and find you surf em better...IMO

Had a look over the wetsuit last night and found a gouge identical to the piece of rubber in the board so mystery solved haha. Thanks heaps for the help. As for sealing up the crack, has anyone had any luck using something more permanent than the tape? Was thinking about giving either some epoxy putty or even just resin over the top to seal it up

G'day, I just used epoxy putty to repair a couple of cracks in my board. Put up a few pics in the Board Talk section.
Not sure how to post a link sorry, it's called DIY Board Repair. Might help
